Across Europe, 12 stadiums in our dataset are used exclusively by a national team, with no club playing there week to week. These are typically purpose-built or symbolic national grounds reserved for international fixtures. Together they seat about 407,678 spectators.
Most countries share their national stadium with a leading club, so a ground used only by the national team is relatively rare and usually significant — a flagship venue, a neutral national arena, or a tournament stadium awaiting a permanent tenant. The map below shows each of these grounds; the table lists them by capacity.
