About UEFA Euro 2032

UEFA Euro 2032 is one of the showpiece events of European football. The 2032 edition is set to be hosted by Italy and Turkey. This page tracks all 20 stadiums linked to the tournament, 5 confirmed and 15 candidate, mapped with capacities, host cities and, where known, how many matches each is set to stage. Together the confirmed venues seat around 291,112 spectators. To stage the tournament a host must field around 10 stadiums meeting UEFA's capacity tiers, at least 3 of 50,000–60,000+ seats (for the opening match, semi-finals and final), 4 of at least 40,000 and 3 of at least 30,000.

Bid analysis: how the Italy–Turkey joint bid came about

UEFA Euro 2032 will be co-hosted by Italy and Turkey, but the joint bid was not the original plan. During the bidding process the two federations merged what had been separate, competing candidacies into a single dual-host bid.

From Italy's point of view the move made strategic sense. A standalone Italian bid was considered highly unlikely to succeed, largely because of long-standing doubts over its ageing stadium infrastructure, so joining forces with Turkey was a pragmatic way to stay in the race. The decision was also consequential: it led Italy to drop its involvement in the Euro 2028 bid in order to concentrate on 2032.

From Turkey's point of view the logic is less obvious. Turkey already has a deep portfolio of modern stadiums that comfortably satisfy UEFA's hosting requirements and could plausibly have staged the tournament alone. One widely-discussed theory is that Turkey is betting on Italy's lack of preparedness: should Italy fail to deliver the required venues in time, it could be excluded from the joint bid, leaving Turkey to be awarded the tournament as sole host. Those concerns are not merely hypothetical, UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin has publicly warned that Italy risks being removed as co-host if its infrastructure plans do not progress.

The Italian host list is also shifting. Bari's Stadio San Nicola has effectively dropped out of the running, while Lecce's Stadio Ettore Giardiniero (Via del Mare) has stepped forward: its candidacy was accepted, with a renovation planned to bring the ground up to UEFA standard. On the map below Bari is marked as withdrawn and Lecce appears as an under-renovation candidate.
