Part of the major multi-sport club Olympiacos CFP ( Greek : Ολυμπιακός Σύνδεσμος Φιλάθλων Πειραιώς , Olympiakós Sýndesmos Filáthlon Peiraiós , lit. ' Olympic Association of Friends-of-sports of Piraeus ' ), their name was inspired by the ancient Olympic Games and along with the club's emblem, the laurel-crowned Olympic athlete, symbolise the Olympic ideals of ancient Greece .
