Founded on 19 June 1964, the team compete in the Eerste Divisie , the second tier of the Dutch football league system , but will play in the Eredivisie from the 2026–27 season following promotion. Since August 2024, they have played their home games at the 15,000‑seat Kooi Stadion , a purpose‑built stadium that replaced Cambuur Stadion . [ 1 ]
